Please make sure you attend this mandatory training to ensure you are on Seaview's approved umpire list for the upcoming season.  Teams are ONLY allowed to use umpires from this list.  If you went through training last year, you MUST go through training again this year!

This Advanced Training is not required but highly recommended.  You must have attended one of the Mechanics Training sessions above in order to be eligible for Advanced Training.  Please Note: Team Managers will be aware of which umpires have been through the Advanced Training and will be encouraged to utilized the umpires with this designation.

Parents, you are encouraged to attend training with your "Junior Umpire".  It's actually kind of fun. Your junior (10 years old & up) may be more nervous than you know, or more than they will admit.  So, whether you are learning together or umpiring a game together, it can be more fun than you think.

You must attend the training - NO EXCEPTIONS!  Yearly training is required to be on SEAVIEW's approved umpire list.  This list stays active through Fall Ball each year.  Then, annual training is required again.  This will refresh your mechanic's, dust off the rust and learn new rules and how they are being implemented.

All umpires will be required to wear the designated uniform.

A collared umpire shirt is to be worn.  You can find these in the designated umpire equipment area.

Black or Dark Grey pants.

Socks and closed toe shoes must to be worn. No sandals or flip flops.

Each umpire is responsible to have an indicator. These are available in the umpire equipment area.

Home plate umpire must wear shin guards, chest protector and mask.  These are available in the umpire equipment area.

Upon completion of your game, please return the shirt and all equipment .  DO NOT TAKE HOME ANY UMPIRE EQUIPMENT.

The D62 Staff Umpires put on weekly rules training sessions from 7-9pm at Old World Main Hall (7561 Center Ave, Huntington Beach, CA 92647 - map).  Each session will cover a different section of the green book.  Although, it is not required to attend these rules training sessions, it is highly recommended if you would like to be proficient at all of the rules of little league. Training Dates: February 9, 16, 23, March 2, 9.  For more info, please visit the District 62 umpire website at:

The D62 Staff Umpires hold a training session in which they discuss the proper way managers are to communicate with the umpires on the field and how to effectively work together.  This forum/training session is mandatory for all upper division managers.  The training is: Wednesday, February 9th, 2022 from 6:30pm to 8:30pm at Old World Village Main Hall (7561 Center Ave, Huntington Beach, CA 92647 - map).
