Seaview and The Corona Virus

I know there is a lot of information out there surrounding the Corona Virus and many of us are concerned with how this is going to affect our community.  Little League International and your Board of Directors are taking this virus seriously and are committed to protecting all of you.  Like many of you, I have been reading various points of view in the media regarding this virus.  It is very difficult to ascertain what to believe.  Through my job, I receive continuous updates regarding the situation here in Orange County.  We will be keeping a watchful eye on this situation and will update all of you as needed.

With that being said, we will be moving forward with our season, but we request that you cooperate with the following:

1.  If anyone is exhibiting a fever, sore throat, sinus congestion, chest congestion, or a cough, please do not attend any Seaview events.
2.  Encourage those who are immuno-suppressed due to various health conditions to stay home (this population has the highest mortality rate .
3.  Bring chairs so we do not have to pack the bleachers and allow for space between you and your neighbor.
4.  Habitually wash your hands and your children's hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
5.  If anyone in your household has recently travelled to a foreign country, please stay home.
6.  Do not engage in any hand-to-hand contact, including high-fives and handshaking.  After games, players may bump elbows, or if you prefer, line up along the foul lines and tip their hats to the opposing team.

The two things that we do have going for us (as opposed to other events) is that we are outside with ample space and our families all live within a close proximity. We don't have people travelling from far away to see our games.

I am looking for hand sanitizer to place at the snack bar and all dugouts.  However, this is quite the search as everyone is sold out. If any of you have an extra bottle that you are willing to sacrifice, we can get this accomplished.

We understand that all of you are getting bombarded with information from all fronts.  We felt that it was important to inform you of our viewpoint regarding this difficult situation.

There is a district meeting tonight and we will be discussing this issue.  We are also listening to guidance from Little League International along with the school district.  If either of these organizations shut down, we will immediately suspend operations and notify you.

This is an extremely fluid situation so please be prepared to adjust accordingly.
